Today, we introduce an Indian student studying MBBS in China and wonderful experience during the MBBS admissions.
Pankaj Simha, an Indian student from Hyderabad, is currently studying in Shihezi University in Xinjiang, China through an organization called China MBBS Educational Institution (CMEI). China MBBS Educational Institution is the sole representative and an exclusive agency for appointing Indian students to study the medical degree course. The organization held seminars and consultation courses in various parts of India from May to July. It also provides great services to the students after they reach China for MBBS admissions.
Seminars and free consultation courses are organized by managerial delegates of China MBBS Educational Institution as well as the University officials. The main objective of the seminars is to educate the local students and parents in India to get a good education for their children. Here are few of the questions as to Pankaj Simha about his experience of studying the medical course.
Q: Tell us about Shihezi University.
Shihezi is a big city by Indian standards, and a small town by Chinese standards. Shihezi University is in Xinjiang Uygar Autonomous Region and was ranked among the key university constructed under the 211 project in December 31st, 2008. Shihezi University has developed into a dynamic higher learning institution with world-oriented education. Currently the University has 20 colleges and a total enrollment of more than 30,032 with 21,989 undergraduates and 1,906 postgraduates. Shihezi University is an ideal place for teaching-learning and research. Shihezi is a quickly evolving city with many exciting developmental prospects in the works.
Q: What inspired you to study abroad in China?
I started to get interested in studying abroad while talking to some fellow higher secondary classmates who had attended the seminars held by CMEI. It sounded like a very interesting way to gain more experience and to have an adventure with the most economical fees. I decided to join the seminar while I was still in India after losing the hope of getting admission in Indian colleges with heavy donations to worry about. I am glad I did attend the seminar (which I highly recommend) and it worked to rid my mind of any hesitation about moving and studying abroad.
Q: How did you end up in Shihezi University?
I collected quite a few brochures of the Medical Universities in China through attending the seminars volunteered by CMEI. I had always been interested in studying abroad. After going through all the Universities, I came to know that Shihezi University had the most economical and cheap University fees among all the Universities in China. Also it is situated in Xinjiang, where the local food is very much similar to what we have in India. The delegates from CMEI also helped me by educating a little about the city and its culture. I am very happy with this opportunity to study MBBS in China with a strong support network like the China MBBS Educational Institution. I also learned, after meeting my fellow students that we had a group of 25 students traveling together to study abroad.
