CMEI provides 150 more medical seats this year

MBBS in China: It is good news for Indian medical students. Around 150 more MBBS seats be available for admission in China this year compared to last year from CMEI.

The new addition includes 50 medical seats in Shihezi University, 50 seats in Guangxi Medical University and Hospital, Nanning, to be filled in through the China MBBS Educational Institution besides the 50 seats in JiaMuSi Medical University in Jiamusi, China.

VP Operations of CMEI Ms. Becky Zhang said the Medical Council of India (MCI) has already given its go-ahead for 150 seats in the concerned medical Universities in China. “We have already started receiving application for the MBBS seats from India for these medical Universities and the admission process will be closed by the end of July,” she said.

CMEI group, which already has a 150-seats available in China, has set up the seminars in collaboration with various franchisee local agents in India, to make the admission process easier for the Indian students. The planning and coordination department of the China MBBS Educational Institution had sanctioned the authority to take-up spot admissions for the franchisee agents in India, while conducting the seminars.

CMEI allots more than 350 seats every year to its franchisee agents from India for various medical colleges in China. The counselling for the medical seats starts from the month of May, soon after the final exam results of 12^th class.

Ms. Zhang said every year, the MCI team visits China and inspects the medical Universities and Hospitals for the level of standard to match according to the MCI rules. More and more Universities in China have been recognized by MCI, every year. “We hope to get more number of seats, next year since our medical Universities in China have great infrastructure and experienced faculty which meets the MCI standards for MBBS education,” Ms. Zhang said. Last year CMEI had admitted 200 students, among all the medical Universities in China, recognized by MCI.

CMEI secretary Susan Yan said the seminars in India will start soon from the first week of July and will be held in 9 different states. As reported earlier, the franchisee agents of CMEI have already announced to admit 50 students each in Chinese Medical Universities from the current year through the seminars.
