NEET made compulsory for Indian students to study MBBS in China

Now it has been official by the Indian Medical Council and the Government body about the NEET examination for Indian students. China MBBS Educational Institution (CMEI) team had predicted about this decision a couple of years before. In most of our China MBBS Corporate Blog articles, we have mentioned several times about the way medical admissions are held and the candidates are chosen by the Medical Universities in China.

By making the examination of NEET compulsory for all the Indian students, who wish to study medicine in China, all the Medical Universities in China have been very happy. This means that from now onward, all good, qualified and capable students who come to study MBBS in China, will have some hope of cracking the MCI Screening Tests.

The ONLY reason for the less passing percentage of Indian students studying medical from China to clear the FMGE / MCI Screening test was the quality of students accepted in these medical colleges in China. Since the NEET examination has been made compulsory from this year, 2018, the students who will apply for the MBBS Admissions in China will have good marks in the overall subjects.

Since the last 20 years, Indian students come to study MBBS in China, but there is no proper assessment or screening of the students prior to the admission. In this regard, the proposal of Medical Council of India (MCI) to amend the Screening Test Regulations, 2002, making it mandatory to qualify NEET to pursue foreign medical course has been approved by this Ministry.

Currently, any student who wishes to study medicine in China has to obtain an MCI Eligibility Certificate from the Medical Council of India, New Delhi Office. Every year more than 5000 Indian students go to study medicine in China.
